Proverbs Distilled:

I have compiled some of the quotes from Proverbs because, after reading it, there is too much repetition,

counter (reversal) quotes, and not holy quotes in the book of Proverbs.  These are good ones which I think

capture the essence of the positive quotes of Proverbs.  I would say that over half of the book of Proverbs

are false teachings, somehow put into those books.  Some are direct negatives of other ones in Proverbs.

But there are some gems in Proverbs, if you read with discernment.  Hopefully, these are some gems.

"Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the open squares she raised her voice"  Proverbs 1:20

"When terror comes upon you like a storm, and your doom approaches like a whirlwind"  Proverbs 1:27

"For the Lord gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding"  Proverbs 2:6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely; In all your ways be mindful

of him, and he will make straight your paths."  Proverbs 3:5-6

"The discipline of the Lord, my son, do not spurn; do not disdain his reproof; For whom the Lord loves

he reproves, as a father, the son he favors."  Proverbs 3:11-12

"The Lord by wisdom founded the earth, established the heavens by understanding"  Proverbs 3:19

"To the Lord the devious are an abomination, but the upright are close to him."  Proverbs 3:32

"On the way of wisdom I direct you, I lead you on straight paths. ... Let your eyes look straight ahead ...

Turn neither to right nor left, keep your foot far from evil."  Proverbs 4:11,25-27.

"There are six things the Lord hates, yes, seven are abominations to him; Haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

hands that SHED INNOCENT BLOOD, A heart that plots wicked schemes, feet that are quick to

run to evil, The false witness who utters lies, and the one who sows discord among kindred."  Proverbs 6:16-19

"One who winks at a fault causes trouble, but one who frankly reproves promotes peace."  Proverbs 10:10

"Whoever follows instruction is in the path of life, but whoever disregards reproof goes astray."  Proverbs 10:17

"The way of fools is right in their own eyes, but those who listen to advice are the wise."  Proverbs 12:15

"A wicked messenger brings on disaster, but a trustworthy envoy is a healing remedy."  Proverbs 13:17

"Whoever spares the rod hates the child, but whoever loves will apply discipline."  Proverbs 13:24

"The naive believe everything, but the shrewd watch their steps."  Proverbs 14:15

"The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly."  Proverbs 15:14

"The Lord is far from the wicked, but hears the prayer of the just."  Proverbs 15:29

"Plans are made in human hearts, but from the Lord comes the tongues response. ... The Lord has

made everything for a purpose, even the wicked for the evil day."  NAB annotation: "Even the wicked

do not lie outside God's plan."  Proverbs 16:1,4   (*This one troubles me, unless I think about ANIMATION)

"Whoever acquits the wicked, whoever condemns the just -- both are an abomination to the Lord."  Proverbs 17:15

"Fools take no delight in understanding, but only in displaying what they think."  Proverbs 18:2

"It is not good to favor the guilty, nor to reject the claim of the just."  Proverbs 18:5

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the just run to it and are safe."  Proverbs 18:10

"The heart of the intelligent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge."  Proverbs 18:15

"Those who plead the case first seem to be in the right; then the opponent comes and cross-examines them."  Proverbs 18:17

"To find a wife is to find happiness, a favor granted by the Lord."  Proverbs 18:22

"The false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever utters lies will not escape."  Proverbs 19:5,9

"One's path may be winding and unfamiliar, but one's conduct is blameless and right."  Proverbs 21:8

"Buy truth and do not sell: wisdom, instruction, understanding."  Proverbs 23:23

"To show partiality in judgment is not good.  Whoever say to the guilty party, 'You are innocent,'

will be cursed by nations, scorned by peoples;  But those who render just verdicts will fare well,

and on them will come the blessing of prosperity."  Proverbs 24:23-25

"Those who tend a fig tree eat its fruit; so those attentive to their master will be honored."  Proverbs 27:18

"Those who abandon instruction praise the wicked, but those who keep instruction oppose them. The

evil understand nothing of justice, but those who seek the Lord understand everything.  Better to be

poor and walk in integrity than rich and crooked in one's ways."  Proverbs 28:4-6

"If a wise person disputes with a fool, there is railing and ridicule but no resolution."  Proverbs 29:9

Again, those are not all the good quotes of Proverbs, only a sample of what I found meaningful.
