SONG LIST AND LYRICS:

Rainbow:

Hear O Lord, send me a rainbow.  Answer O Lord, I need to know.

Warm my heart, the cold wind blows.  Show us the path to follow.

Hear O Lord, share with us your love.  Answer O Lord, send the fire from above.

Here on earth the sorrows grow.  Guide us on the path to follow.

The colors of your love light the way home.  The colors of your love, like a rainbow.

The colors of your love, make us whole.  The colors of your love, make a rainbow.

I cried when I saw them raise their fake 'rainbow' flag with the Star Spangled Banner half mast.

It was the opposite of Noah's Rainbow.  It was the end of our Natural Covenant.

They stole the rainbow and made it the opposite.

Time Has Come:

The time has come to make a change.  To re-arrange our stars aligned.

And from this view, there is no more two.  It is plain to see what love can be.

The time has come to let love reign.  The time has come, Let Freedom Ring.

The time has come to let love reign.  In our hearts, it is the song we sing.

The time has come to make this change.  To center stage, this path of days.

From this view, I see you.  No more left, and no more right.

The time has come to let love reign.  The time has come, Let Freedom Ring.

The time has come to let love reign.  In our hearts, it is the song we sing.

Thin Line:

There's a thin line between love and hate.  There's a thin line between regret and waiting.

You heard before the hour is growing late.  Stand up now, time to participate.

There's a thin line between night and day.  In the morning light let us make our get away.

To the height of that mountain top.  Until we reach it, let's never stop.

Freedom has its cost.  To fight for what is right, or all will be lost.

Freedom is the only way: a land "shackled to God" is what we pray.

There's a thin line between boy and man.  When the time comes, you must take a stand.

That time comes for everyone.  And if no one stands, the land will be gone.

1776 "Inalienable Rights,"  1860s we stood to make that fight.

Room 306 at 6:01, we saw him right, the "Night Overcome."

Gently Still My Soul:

I hear your words in the soft rains that flow.  I've felt your gifts in the gentle breeze that blows.

Be still my heart, be still my thoughts.  Steal my wandering mind from this world.

Guide me into your arms, into your love.  Gently still my soul.

I sense you near in the sweet morning dew.  I've searched your eyes in the radiance of the moon.

You know my heart, you designed my soul.  Drown this desert longing in your love.

Lead me into your ocean, quench this broken heart.  Gently still my soul.

Can't you feel the storm that waits within my heart to watch again your cherry blossom sky?

How long must I wait to see the end time?  When you will lay down your head to rest.

Your embrace is like the warm autumn blush.  The stillness of your voice, the long winter's hush.

Warm this weathered body by your fire.  Gently still my soul.

Galaxy:

The stars are out tonight, swirling high above in the sky.  How far away are we from New Earth?

In your hand you make that our birth.  In this galaxy, it is where we will be.

Fact not fiction, you will set us free.  To be the real persons you designed us to be.

Way up in the sky, or very near to me?  Galaxy, will it be the same?  Galaxy, yet we will be unchanged.

There is no 'spiritualization.'  There is only body, earth, and our nation.

Where we will live free to obey the true laws that you made.  In this Galaxy is where it will be.

Fact not fiction, you will set us free.  To be the real persons you designed us to be.

Way up in the sky or very near to me?  Galaxy, when will we see?  When will it be?

Ceiling Fan:

Shadows dancing on these walls.  Churning echoes in these halls.  Inspiration spinning above.

Your silent voice is how we are led.  A funnel cloud.  Darkness surrounds.  And in my room I hear you call.

Ceiling fan, keep me cool.  On a straight path, no crooked lines.  Clock is ticking on the wall, time is moving slow.

Yet another day goes by, I'm waiting for you to show me, amid shadows dancing on these walls.

When will be their final curtain call?  A funnel cloud.  Darkness surrounds.  And in my room I hear you call.

Ceiling fan, keep me cool. On a straight path, no crooked lines.  I caught your eye from a distance,

A distant land that I see.  I would like to meet.  Like to be free with you.  Rising high ever faster,

Wood bent never breaks.  Bend me round, from the ground, from the clay, to new earth, carry me away.

I sing to you from this distance, about a new land that I see in my dreams, I'd like to be free with you.

Orbit:

Every planet orbits around a sun.  One day our star will be done.

Have you ever wondered what will happen to our earth? To this land of fading worth?

It seems so far away, but there is hope of a better day for those who accept the way of Truth,

We will be restored to our youth.   Remain in orbit around the sun.  Remain in orbit around the Truth.

Let the gravity of what is real pull you in to make the seal.  Saturn has its rings.

Rings they used to steal from God all that is real.  All she wanted was fake 'feels.'

She has no honest appeal.  No one can make her kneel.  At the end what will she say?

She says she's 'living for today.'

Eclipse:

Eclipse of reason, she blots out the sun.  She says she "only wants to have some fun."

Her fun is filled with misery, her days full of tears.  She wasted away so many years.

You can count on one hand the times she has told the truth.

All she says she wants are "words that soothe." Her favorite song is "You're So Smooth."

She's living like there is nothing to lose.

When she cries there is no one to hear.  When she cries all through the years.

Eclipse of reason, like a moon shadow.  She never thinks deep, she is so shallow.

If the lights go on, it's a small candle.  She says "there's no jam she can't handle."

When she cries there is no one to hear.  When she cries all through the years.

When she cries she says "no one cares."  That is because of all she dares.

Fire Sky:

Fire from the sky, have you heard?  The meaning of His holy word.

Fire from the sky, when will we see?  The day is coming, God's victory.

Fire on the earth, did you see?  The firenado, a spinning wall of heat.

Flames and fury like days of old, the vortex of flames did unfold.

It will be just as it was foretold.  It will be just as in days of old.

It will be just as the Good Book taught.  All the lands will be brought to naught.

Fire in the sky, a blistering sun.  It will be what God's hand has done.

As Isaiah and others have warned.  It will arrive, as we learned.

Mold The Clay:

Can the one you made reject its Maker's hand?

Can the pot say to the Potter: "You do not understand"?

Mold us a shape us the upright path and way.

Then our dreams be realized on an earth that will not sway.

Mold the clay.  Write us a new day.  Mold the clay.  Draw us return to your way.

Mold the clay.  Help us hear you when we pray.  Mold the clay.

The righteous will mingle with the blind and deaf.

The one who knows the truth cannot turn away from the facts.

Mold us and shape us the only true path and way.

Then all your blessings will be realized that day.

STUDIO NOTES:

2/9/19:  Recorded with John my song Time Has Come today, and when I got back and listened again to the song mix at my home I noticed there is a cable crackle -- probably on the Bass track -- that we will need to fix next time.  It happened at around 1 minute (few seconds after) in the song. I posted the m4a and will replace it next week with the fixed version.  Don't know how we did not hear it, except we were listening to speakers, when usually we listen to both speakers and then headphones.  Other than that, John did a great job, and drumming.  He liked the guitar riff of the rhythm track.  Piano is minimal, bluesy, yet fits in nicely.  I like playing that guitar and bass part, and piano, fun song to play.  See my note at the News And Notes page about the meaning of the lyrics.

2/23/19:  Recorded Thin Line today, and part of the song is for Black History Month.  John did a great job blending my sounds and styles.  He said he likes Time Has Come, but "really likes Thin Line, real Rock 'n Roll."  He did a good job mixing my vocals especially.  I like the Bass line I played and how it doubles with the lead gain track.  The longer note about both songs is at my News And Notes page.  We found the static sound I mention in the previous note on 2/9.  It was a crackle in the Bass cable connection at one spot during the first chorus.  We fixed it and reposted it.  Still having problems playing the songs on my media player from my web site after posted.  The same media player plays them on my computer, except when I post and try to play them from my web site.  See notes at Radio Volume 2nd page about when that started.

3/2/19:  Recorded Orbit today.  It is a fun song for me to play, and John also liked the lyrics.  I like the overall mix he made, blending the vocals, guitars, bass, piano, and drums.  I thought about adding acoustic guitar and a little synth lead, but decided I like the more raw yet blended sound of electric guitar and piano.  I added the line "everyone knows ..." for reasons I will let each of you figure out.  We have the guitar lead level right, I think, for this song, not in the background but not drowning out the other guitar riff and piano.  The mix to get a raw feel that is still polished is not as easy a mix as you might think. See my note about Orbit at the News And Notes page.

3/16/19:  Recorded both Rainbow and Eclipse today. As you can see there is somewhat of a cosmic theme, as will be for Potter's Wheel.  That is because God promised our decisions would have cosmic consequences. John did a great job as usual blending my styles and his drumming.  Rainbow was written when his younger sister drew me a rainbow one day.  It made me think about the youth's future.  Then on TV I saw the two flags in the song hanging on the same flag pole, half mast.  I said to John that I almost did not add the speech part. He said it was cool. The jazzier Eclipse was fun to record and we hit the ending, I think.  John got a good tone for my guitar for a 5-watt studio channel on my amp.

3/23/19:  Recorded Gently Still My Soul today.  Told John, the producer, that the song was originally written in 1993, before he was born.  He seemed to feel an added sense of responsibility because of how old my song is.  I revised it in ways I state on the News And Notes page.  John found a nice hypnotic tone for the lead guitar, I feel.  I enjoy playing this song, and revised the bass to give it more reggae flavor.  And I revised the bridge to give it more rock feel in that portion.  The music mix is very good, I only wish I could do my song justice with my vocal ability.  I feel more of a song writer than a vocalist.  At the same time, I feel I should be the one singing my songs. I tested out lead guitar blending with the vocals.  I think it works with the hypnotics of the lead tone under the vocals.  Instrumentally, this is perhaps my favorite song on this CD.

3/30/19:  Recorded Galaxy today.  The song has piano, but blended so as to keep the guitar and bass rock flavor.  I struggle with mixing keys into my songs because piano changes the character of a song often, but I like adding it, and playing the instrument.  It is a cool piano piece on its own, but mostly I think we wanted the guitar, bass, and drums to dominate in this version.  I double the bass line with guitar playing the same line, with some gain on the channel.  I told John the song is about New Earth, see Isaiah, and against those who 'spiritualize' our afterlife, instead of accept that we will be bodily, walking around on a real Earth. See also Rev. 21:1 where the "new earth" is acknowledged.  Worse, he said, "are those who think we will be mere dirt when we die," and he is right about that.  Mostly we do not have theological type discussions, except to point out why I wrote certain lyrics, in this case to clarify: "There is no 'spiritualization,' there is only body, earth, and our nation ..."  I wrote such a short note about Galaxy previously at the News And Notes page that I thought I would provide that supplemental info here.  Minimal guitar lead, fits for this song.

4/6/19: Recorded Mold The Clay today.  I wrote it to turn folk group influence into a rock song.  When I tested the mix after the session today, the vocals seemed lower than in the studio.  So I called John and instructed him to raise the vocal level.  I will post the remix next week. We tried recording piano to it, but that did not sound rock enough.  I want it prayerful yet pop, rock vocals.  Finally, after recording the electric parts, drums, and bass, I added the acoustic guitar to bring in memory of my folk group background.  I also wrote the song not to compete with Potter Wheel.  Both songs are about God at the potter wheel molding His people.  I find Potter Wheel more personal, and rock, while Mold The Clay more group, a prayer for everyone.  We did not add the harmonica, again.  Thought, like the piano, it was not needed.  I had a choice today between Fire Sky and Mold The Clay, but thought Mold The Clay was more appropriate today because someone I know was celebrating their birthday, and Fire Sky is about the End; and also a New Beginning.  I thought praying about God molding us to be more uplifting on her birthday.

4/13/19:  Recorded Ceiling Fan today.  The guitar, bass, and drums all blended nice, that we decided not to add piano, nor synth violin.  I think John did a great job mixing the instruments I played, and his drums fit exact; great feel for the song.  John, the producer, said he "likes Ceiling Fan perhaps the most on the projects."  I saved it for near last, only one song more, because I wanted to spend extra time on it, because of the two distinct parts to the song; the first is psychedelic rock, and the second part is more jazzier, or in his words more "funk" elements.  I wrote a note earlier about the song at News And Notes page, but I will repeat the meaning of the title here: Ceiling in some languages means "heaven, sky" and "FA" is "Father."  "Heavenly Father of man."  I wrote the song when it was extremely hot outside, and my apartment only had a ceiling fan, and I thought of that word play poetic meaning of "Ceiling FAn." "Keep me cool."  On another note:  I posted the song and tested playing it from this web site and all I got was letters of gibberish again, no sound.  See notes about that on prior Radio Volume 2nd project also, when that started happening.

4/20/19:  Recorded Fire Sky today, and showed John briefly the Scriptural meditation from Isaiah and others.  He found a good drum part for the song, and I recorded the guitars and bass.  It is a scripture meditation song and therefore was like walking a balance between letting God's words be heard and yet packaging it as a good and rhythmic song.  We had something happen I cannot explain: after recording all of the lines of the second chorus, John mixed the song, and when he played it for me, these lyrics were missing: "It will be just as the Good Book taught; all the lands will be brought to naught."  I said, "I struggled with keeping those lyrics in, as maybe a bit much for a song."  So I had to decide whether to re-record those lines, or keep it the way I had wanted it to begin with -- without those lines in.  They are pretty much stated anyway by the other lyrics and if you read the Scriptures on which Fire Sky is based.  John says he did not do it.  And he doubts we were hacked.  Somehow those lines were removed. Anyway, John said he thinks this song is one of the better songs on the project.  I like the way the rhythmic chords, bass, drums, and lead blend.

"As the deer longs for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God.  My soul thirsts for God,

the living God.  When can I enter and see the face of God?"  Psalm 42:2-3,6,8

"See, I am creating new heavens and a new earth ... For see, the Lord will come in fire ... like the

stormwind ...burning rage ... fiery flames ... Just as the new heavens and new earth which I am making"

Isaiah 65:16-20; 66:15-16,22,24  "On the day of the Lord's wrath, in the fire of his passion, all the earth

will be consumed.  For he will make an end, yes, a sudden end, of all who live on earth."  Zephaniah 1:18

"and if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction, reducing them to ashes, making

them an example for the godless people of what is coming" 2 Peter 2:5-6
